On 18 November 2022, Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer invited aisot CEO & Co-Founder Stefan Klauser to give a keynote presentation on artificial intelligence applications in the financial sector at a roundtable discussion with leading representatives from the financial industry, tech, academia and government. The meeting focused on the opportunities, risks and developments in connection with artificial intelligence applications in the financial sector.
Recent years have seen further progress in the development of artificial intelligence applications. In February 2022, the Federal Council instructed the Federal Department of Finance (FDF) to draw up an overview of legal framework conditions that are of relevance for artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Moreover, the Confederation should assume the role of active dialogue partner and coordinator.
At the roundtable in Bern on 18 November 2022, Stefan Klauser's keynote presentation focused on how AI is used today in financial services and on the potential of AI for Finance in the future, in particular when it comes to personalization of services and products. Following Stefan's presentation, the participants of the roundtable discussed the current status, the potential of AI in the financial sector in the future and risks. They also discussed obstacles and gaps in the current regulatory framework as regards the use of AI in the financial sector. The findings from the roundtable will be incorporated into the FDF's future work in this area.
